Character Designer
Summary: Generates character designs, turnarounds, expression sheets, special poses and costumes, mouth charts and any other character-related art that the production may require, ensuring style and quality of show is met.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Review script for characters needed at handout of show.
• Complete all rough, revised and final designs necessary within assigned deadlines.
• Resolve design problems with creative supervisors.
• Ensure all deadlines are met.
• Communicate progress of work to appropriate production staff.
• Ensure all artwork is properly backed up and stored appropriately.
• Ensure all shipping materials are prepared and ready on time.
• Be available for questions until your department’s shipment is complete.
• Assist with special projects
• If applicable, make special shadow and color indications
Qualifications:
• Must demonstrate proficiency in style of show
• Strong character design and construction/mechanical skills
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn applicable design software and hardware, especially Cintiq tablet and Photoshop.
• Strong time-management skills
• Work well under pressure
• Ability to multitask a plus
Education/Experience:
• Relevant drawing experience necessary
• BA in Fine Arts or equivalent work experience highly desired

Background Designer
Responsibilities include but no limited to:
· Create background keys and backgrounds as required.
· Attend storyboard breakdown meetings.
· Inform appropriate production staff of designs and reference needed for reuse.
· Review BGs against storyboards for continuity and missing elements.
· Communicate daily with appropriate production staff.
· Alert LP/PM immediately if deadlines are in jeopardy.
· Assist with special projects
· May be responsible for color lead sheets
Requirements:
· Strong background design skills
· Thorough understanding of perspective
· Software knowledge in Photoshop
· Hardware knowledge in Cintiq and Mac/PC versatile
Education/Experience:
· 2-3 yrs of T.V. series experience, or feature equivalent

FX Artist
- Complete Understanding of Maya 2012 dynamics, including particles, nParticles, nCloth, rigid bodies, soft bodies and fluid systems.
- Advanced knowledge in rendering, including experience using Mental Ray and building Mental Ray shading networks.
- Advanced Knowledge of MEL.
- Experience in Python and Nuke.
- Must be available to work on site in Burbank, CA.
- 2 years of experience working within a 3D production pipeline in TV production is a plus.
- Experience in Particle Illusion is a Plus.

Lighting and Compositing Artist
Nickelodeon Animation Studios is looking for talented Lighting and Compositing artists to work on multiple productions and assist in the development and improvement of the Nickelodeon CG lighting pipeline.
Responsibilities Include:
- Developing looks and light rigs for sets and characters that meets the style requirement and aesthetics of the project.
- Light and composite shots for multiple short and long term productions.Work independently on creative look development using commercial and proprietary lighting and compositing tools.
Requirements:
- An eye for composition, color and lighting design is required.
- The ability to work under deadlines and meet those deadlines with the high level of expertise and confidence while delivering a product that meets or exceeds the expectations of the corresponding supervisors and Directors.
- Experience in Maya required
- Experience in Nuke required
- BA in Art, Fine Art, Illustration, Graphic Design, Computer Science or equivalent experience desired.
