Description
Compositors seamlessly integrate all the layers or elements of a shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements. Compositors work closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and CG Supervisors to composite the numerous elements that complete visual-effects shots.
Responsibilities:
- Working in collaboration with Compositing Leads to evaluate the creative and technical approach to assigned shots
- Taking briefs and direction from Lead Compositors and VFX Supervisors to execute assigned shots
- Integrating 2D, 3D and live action elements to high-end visual effects film standard
- Meeting schedules and show deadlines
- Ongoing communication with Production and Leads regarding schedules and deadlines
- Taking responsibility for own workload, time management and notes/feedback actions required by Supervisors
- Balancing the creative and technical aspects of each shot

Description
Creature FX Technical Directors are responsible for providing a wide variety of dynamic simulations for character-based work; including clothing, hair, muscle and skin.
Responsibilities:
- The creation of simulation rigs for characters and creatures using Maya, nCloth and additional proprietary tools
- Shot execution using simulation rigs and the delivery of finished assets to the Lighting department
- Liaison with other departments involved in the creature workflow - Modeling, Rigging, Animation and Lighting
- Involvement in the development of departmental tools and techniques

Description
Digital Matte Painters are responsible for painting photo real environments, elements and textures for matching into live action plates or to stand on their own as DMP plates. Digital matte paintings may also be used in a 3D environment and may be mapped onto 3D objects.
A strong understanding and sympathy for real world materials and lighting is essential. DMP artists will work closely with the Modeling and Shading departments and therefore must have a basic knowledge of the practices of each of these disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Able to create photo-realistic digital matte paintings
- Assist with and develop the look of a shot/sequence in liaison with the supervision team
- Work alongside the production team to establish schedules and technical requirements
- Work in partnership with Shader Developers, Lighting TDs and Compositors to ensure shots are delivered to the very highest standard

- Writing pipeline tools and further developing the pipeline for use across Framestore shows
- Working in collaboration with the CG Supervisor and end users to determine the best solutions
- Once a solution has been agreed then ensure that it addresses end user and show requirements as briefed
- Maintaining of tools including troubleshooting and optimisation
- Thorough documentation of all development and updating as necessary
- Ongoing research to recommend improvements to workflows in order to improve productivity or communication
