Pipeline TD



JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Summary: This role will work with the other Pipeline Engineers, Developers and artists to support and troubleshoot pipeline issues including debugging of files and creating tools. 
Responsibilities:
·         Work with artists, leads, and supervisors to facilitate production workflow. 
·         Collaborate with Pipeline Designers, Developers, and TAs to optimize workflow and tool integration.
·         Recommend improvements to workflows to improve productivity or communication.
·         Follow up with reports to production and data.
·         Support production and artist concerns including debugging, troubleshooting and managing fixes.
Requirements
·         Experience with UNIX/LINUX
·         Experience scripting with Python
·         Experience with at least one of the following applications: Nuke, Maya, Softimage.
·         3D math skills, familiarity with stereoscopic concepts a plus
·         Thorough follow-up skills as well as clear and concise documentation necessary for supporting production and data
·         Ability to work with a team to deliver high quality software in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
·         Excellent communication and presentation skills
·         Ability to work onsite during business hours and additional onsite hours as needed for production support.



Tracking Artist/ Matchmover


Responsibilities:
  • 3D Camera tracking - recreating the movement of a stereo live-action camera in 3D, set extensions - ensuring 3d objects placed in a 3D virtual environment are accurately tracked 
  • Using the measurements and pictures of the live-action set, camera information, distortion grids, and scaling reference of characters and objects to recreate a virtual set in 3D 
  • Matchmoving rigid and non-rigid objects on moving elements in the plate 
  • Removing lens distortion from the plates to aid in the solving of tracks

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Expert knowledge of PFTrack or 3D Equalizer (knowledge of Boujou a plus)
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Maya
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a great eye for camera, blocking plus composition and must work well under pressure for potentially short turnaround deadlines
  • Able to take direction and feedback well from supervisor
  • A minimum of two years of feature film experience required

DESIRED SKILLS AND PLUSES:
  • Modeling experience (environment and organics) is a major plus
  • Previous stereoscopic film production experience a plus
  • Knowledge of a tracking software's scripting language is desirable
  • On set production experience is desirable

 Pipeline Developer


As a company focused on stereoscopic conversion, this position will Work with the pipeline programmers and artist leads to architect and develop asset management and production tracking system. Supporting modules of the internal API for the Stereo production process, in a Python scripting language environment. Projects include design and development of asset management and production tracking systems, as well as continued development of the core pipeline, supporting modules and sub-systems currently in production. This position reports to the Pipeline Programming Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop systems that make up the custom pipeline
  • Learn about production processes and current work-flow within the pipeline to accurately assess requirements of new or existing systems
  • Learn current modules and tools and utilize libraries of existing code
  • Document code and systems, communicating peer review unsure dependencies
  • Maintain clear and timely communication regarding code changes and system role outs to Pipeline team and studio

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency with web technologies, especially PHP, HTML, and CSS
  • Strong database programming skills (MySQL/postgresql; also with relational and NoSQL engines. 
  • Excellent Python scripting skills (3+ years)
  • 1+ years of PyQt/PySide experience.
  • Proficiency with Django or other MVC web frameworks
  • Excellent UNIX/LINUX and shell scripting skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a high attention to detail, quality, and organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience managing many types of assets or files in a fast-paced and deadline-driven production environment
  • Proficiency with visual FX compositing software such as Nuke or Adobe Aftereffects a plus
  • Experience developing custom plug-ins for visual FX software a plus
DESIRED SKILLS AND PLUSES:
  • Javascript experience is a plus.
  • VFX/CG experience a plus.
  • Strong emphasis and understanding of developer workflow and best practices
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; a team player with previous lead experience is strongly desired



Pipeline Technical Assistant


Summary: This role will work with the Pipeline Technical Directors, Data department as well as production staff to deliver content to vendors and clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Follow proper protocol and quality control technical aspects of deliverables, verifying contents meet client expectations.
  • Follow up with reports to production and data.
  • When not delivering, help Pipeline TD support production and artist concerns.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • Experience with UNIX/LINUX
  • 3D math skills, familiarity with stereoscopic a plus
  • Experience scripting with Python a plus
  • Thorough follow-up skills as well as clear and concise documentation necessary for supporting production and data
  • Ability to work with a team to deliver high quality software in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work onsite during business hours and additional onsite hours as needed for production support.
