CG Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Luma is on the hunt for an experienced supervisor who has a substantial track record of leading teams technically and artistically through complex visual effects for film. A great eye and steller problem solving skills are a must.
- Extensive production experience in all the following areas: layout, animation, modeling, texturing, rigging, fur/hair, cloth, effects, lighting, and compositing. Must have an exceptional eye for taking shots from conception to final.
- Evaluates the creative requirements of a project, determines their technical implications, and makes high-impact operational decisions.
- Expected to be attentive to emerging industry technologies and production techniques, and determines practical applications for these advancements in order to improve production.
- Strong aesthetic sense; demonstrates ability to make creative and aesthetic judgment calls quickly and under significant pressure.
- Ability to manage time and balance priorities, often amidst the pressures of busy, deadline-driven production.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities, both written and verbal.
- - Must understand anatomy and perspective
- - Proper modeling and texturing techniques

FX Artist
Responsibilities
- light and render FX passes for specific shots using developed FX rigs
- develop rigs/techniques to implement and optimize approved looks
- produce look tests based on provided reference materials
- creation of tools and scripts to facilitate workflow
Qualifications
- artist should be familiar with more than one of the following applications:
Maya
Houdini
Realflow
Krakatoa
Fume
Fume - Python scripting experience is a plus
- understanding multi pass 3D compositing is a plus
- artists must be able to take direction and work in a team focused environment, good communication skills are a must
- strong time management skills and extremely organized.
- solid work ethic and a positive attitude in the face of challenging situations.

I/O Coordinator
Responsibilities
- manage receipts and deliveries via FTP, hard drives and couriers
- convert large volumes of media to various formats, codecs, resolutions
- log incoming and outgoing files
- track editorial issues such as shot lengths, handles, scan requests
Qualifications
- strong work ethic
- meticulous attention to detail
- exceptional organizational skills
- comfortable with spreadsheets
- ability to take direction positively, work well within a team and thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines
Pluses
- understand basic compositing and editorial concepts (After Effects / Final Cut / Avid)
- basic command line knowledge
- familiarity with various media file formats/codecs
Modeling/Texturing Lead
Responsibilities
- focusing on environmental and hard surface modeling and texturing
- digital paintings of photo realistic environments based on concept art and photo reference
- model environments and props for UV texturing
- set up scenes for camera projection
- develop multilayered photo-real textures for use in multi-pass rendering
Qualifications
- well versed with Maya and Photoshop
- Z-Brush, Mudbox or Bodypaint skills are a plus
- have a solid understanding of VFX production pipelines and multi-pass rendering methods
- demonstrated ability to create seamless photo-real environments
- excellent written and verbal skills are key
- relocation assistance may be available subject to negotiation
NUKE Compositor
Responsibilities
- compositing of both digital and live action elements to create groundbreaking visual effects shots for blockbuster films
- collaborate with fellow artist and supervisors to meet challenging production deadlines in a positive work environment
Qualifications
- must be well versed Nuke (background with Shake considered a plus)
- should have a good understanding of 3d multi-pass rendering techniques and colorspace concepts
- ability to take direction positively, work well within a team and thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines
- an understanding of stereo (3D) and anamorphic compositing in Nuke
- artists must be able to take direction and work in a team focused environment, good communication skills are a must
