3D ANIMATOR
Job description
The ideal candidate has experience animating and modeling both human and non-humanoid characters. Solid knowledge of the principles of body movement, anticipation, overshoot, follow-through, squash and stretch, forward and inverse kinematics, and other fundamentals of 3D animation is essential. The animator/modeler must be proficient in low poly modeling and hand painted texturing in Maya. The ideal candidate works well in an environment of peers who are passionate about making great games.
- Animate and model characters, vehicles, creatures, buildings and environments in Maya.
- Adhere to technical constraints and guidelines to create highly optimized animations and models for a mobile game development pipeline.
- Work with designers and producers to come up with timelines and milestones for animation and modeling assets.
- Work to optimize, fix problems and polish animation and modeling assets in a highly iterative development process.
- Give input into the art direction of the project as it relates top both animation and modeling.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Exceptional skill and experience in animating humanoids, creatures and mechanical objects.
- Exceptional skill and experience in low poly modeling of character, creatures and environments.
- Ability to hand paint textures.
- At least 4 years of combined experience in the game industry, as a 3D Animator and as a 3D Modeler.
- A thorough understanding of 3D animation pipelines in the conceptual, implementation and polish phases.
- The ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and creative disciplines.
- Self-motivation, great communication skills and an excellent team-player attitude.
