CHARACTER MODELER



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Create Blend Shapes and Facial Modeling
  • Build complex yet visually appealing organic 3D characters and articulated set and prop models
  • Create character models constructed with polygonal, NURBS, and subdivision topologies to create high resolution surface models ranging of highly stylized cartoon characters
  • Create Sets and Props including: vehicles, buildings and master set environments.  The level of mechanical articulation involved often leads set and prop modelers to rig the models they construct.
  • Work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Able to take direction from the Leads and Supervisors and feedback from the Directors.    

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Must have experience with Blend Shapes
  • Must have experience with Facial Modeling
  • A thorough understanding of 3-D computer programs such as Maya and ZBrush
  • Scripting (MEL, PERL, CSH) background a plus
  • Previous experience with traditional 3D sculpting a plus
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy a plus
  • A reel including wireframes and turnarounds of work are requested for review
  • Resume and a reel break down.
  • Strong problem solving skills and a good eye required
  • Proven ability to be detail oriented and to work efficiently within a production environment
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment, taking direction from the Model Lead, CG Supervisor and feedback from the Art Director and Director(s) as necessary
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Maximum three years beyond graduation date
