POSITION : Lighting Technical Assistant
JOB SUMMARY
This is an entry level position that will expose you to the lighting pipeline and many aspects of the overall studio production pipeline. The lighting TA will support a given lighting team to help facilitate lead lighter setup. This position takes direction from the CG Supervisor and/or lead lighters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The Compositing Supervisor will direct and approve the compositing scheme to serve the creative needs and the work flow on the film. They will work with the VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisors, Head of Effects, and Matte Painting Supervisor in defining the use of compositing on the film, and is responsible for the implementation and use of compositing on the film.

- Technical testing of new environments or assets to determine any upstream setup problems before lighting production
- Communication with the Lighting Technical Directors to help improve processes and workflow.
- Organize and execute data to help optimize lighting rigs, such as baking out UV-based bounce or exposure maps
- Follow-up with other departments while troubleshooting issues until a resolution is reached
- Work in a compositing package to generate image mattes for post production.
- Test new software maps and/or features as needed
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving and troubleshooting in a technical environment
- Experience with the unix/linux environment
- 2D/3D graphics software knowledge a plus
- A mix of production experience as well as some experience with scripting/programming in Python, Perl, MEL and/or C/C++ a plus.
- Preferably a B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent
POSITION : Nuke Compositing Supervisor
LOCATION : Glendale, CA
Job duties include:
- Achieve a highly rich, refined, and integrated look of the film in a cost effective manner using Nuke
- Helpmanage cross departmental communication and schedules for compositing and integration
- Composite or supervise compositing of complex integration shots
- Support production management and VFX Sup in budgeting and scheduling for interactive compositing and complex shot compositing
- Develop compositing tools and work flows to improve efficiency
- Single point of contact on show for color theory, LUTs, and color accuracy for Nuke
- Train artists in compositing and Nuke use
Qualifications
- Our ideal candidate has a strong sense of composition, color and design, color correction, roto, mattes and tracking technologies
- 5 years of compositing experience in feature film production
- 2 years of supervisory, or lead, role in feature film production
- 3 years of experience with computer graphics generated imagery in feature film production
- You must have a demo reel that shows strong artistic skills including a sense of color, lighting, perspective, scale, attention to detail and composition
- Expert knowledge of Nuke is a must
- Scripting or programming experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work and lead within a strong team environment
- Creative problem solving skills
- BFA or equivalent work experience
